Yum! These two weeks will be devoted to cooking our own tasty food! We'll taste and work with a variety of ingredients and cook something new each day. We'll also talk about where food comes from and set up a mini market in our classroom for our friends to shop. This session will culminate in us preparing a family lunch - everyone is invited!

This session we'll also ask "What happens if I. . . ?" We'll be doing lots of experiments this session - working with magnets, floating and sinking, mixing potions, and exploring our five senses. You never know what we might try - but the results are guaranteed to be fun!

What might you see if you went to the beach? What lives in the water? What fish live in Lake Washington? What about on the shore? What are the characteristics of sharks, dolphins, and whales? What can we learn about an Orca whale? This session, we will be exploring all those ideas and more, as we set our sights on the Ocean and the beach.

In our second week we will also talk about summer insects and sing songs about them as we do bug hunts in the yard and make creative art to represent the bugs that we discover.

Please bring a bathing suit and towel that your child(ren) can keep at school for the duration of the session - we will be getting outside and cooling off as often as we can! On days when the temperature is above 75 degrees we will often serve a popsicle treat.
